Crugkern Barn - Cot Valley

Sennen Cove, with its half a mile of golden sand is just 10 minutes drive away offering swimming and surfing in a majestic setting, or you may prefer the smaller, secluded coves such as Porth Nanven, where the River Cot meets the Atlantic, or Cape Cornwall. The Cot Valley and adjacent granite sea cliff coast are renowned for their wildlife, and offer stunning coastal walks within easy reach of the barn via a network of quiet lanes and footpaths. It is an ideal base for those wishing to walk sections of the West Penwith leg of the Cornwall Coast Path. Penzance is just 10 minutes drive away, with its wide range of shops and services, and Land’s End is a similar distance. Places such as Marazion, St Michael’s Mount, the fishing ports of Newlyn and Mousehole and the ‘Poldark coast’ (where much of the series was filmed) with its rich industrial mining heritage are all within a 15-20 minute drive so there is always something to do or new and interesting places to see. If you fancy a trip to the Scilly Isles then Land’s End airport offers regular flights, or you may prefer to go by sea on the Scillonian from Penzance.

Go on, treat yourself.   Crugkern Barn is a secluded studio apartment at the head of the Cot Valley; a wildlife haven within walking distance of Porth Nanven and St Just. Many artists call West Penwith home. You will find ceramics, paintings, textiles and mosaics in the barn and a glorious array of studios and galleries in the towns and villages nearby.  Whether spring, summer, autumn or winter, there is always something awesome to discover in the “wild west”. Spring flowers adorning the cliff top paths, summer surfing and sand castles, autumn gardens and gastronomic delights and exhilarating, wild winter waves.
The Barn is situated at the head of the quiet, picturesque Cot Valley and set between the moorlands of West Penwith and surrounding farmland yet within easy reach of the attractive and vibrant small town of St Just (5 minutes away) with its wide range of local services. Set in the grounds of the owners’ home, and within the West Penwith Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Crugkern Barn is a small, tastefully converted barn in a modern style, providing high quality accommodation for 2 people with its own gardens, outdoor seating areas and parking.
